The Jewellers - a brief history
Denhams the
Jewellers was founded by two brothers, David & Leon Zara,
and first opened its doors at 18 Belvoir Street,
Leicester in 1952.
Denhams
the Jewellers was co-owned by the two Zara brothers
until Leon left in 1959 to concentrate on another
business. Denhams continues to be family run and
is now owned by David Zara's daughter, Jane, her husband
James Jackson and Sarah Stamp, who started working in
Denhams after leaving school in 1989 and became a
partner in the business in 2000 after qualifying in
gemmology in 1995.
