The 4C’s
- what makes one diamond more valuable than
another.
Carat
____________________
A diamond’s size is measured by its weight in carats.
Usually, the more carats, the more valuable the diamond.
But because all diamonds are unique, there are other
factors that determine the value of an individual
diamond …..
Cut
____________________
The skill with which a diamond has been cut can have a
major influence on its beauty and value. Light reflects
from one facet to another resulting in the brilliance
and fire that we all love. But if cut less than
perfectly, light dispenses through the stone and the
display is less impressive.

Clarity
____________________
The clarity of a diamond refers to the amount of
naturally occurring imperfections to be found. The fewer
inclusions, imperfections or feathers, the rarer and
more valuable the stone.

Colour
____________________
The stone’s colour is the final factor in determining
its value. Many diamonds display hints of colour that
affect their value. The closer a stone is to colourless,
the more valuable it is.
